Andromeda Galaxy (Messier 31)
The galaxy's name stems from the area of Earth's sky in which it appears, the constellation of Andromeda, which itself is named after the princess who was the wife of Perseus in Greek mythology. It is our nearest and largest major galaxy to us, in our galaxy group. Larger in our night sky than our moon, and bright enough to be seen in rural skies with some light pollution. This particular photo I did, utilized taking photos of 4 different sections of it, to stitch together one very large, high resolution and detailed image. It was roughly 20hrs of imaging and took from September 2024 to January 2025 to complete.
