Cocoon Nebula

The Cocoon Nebula, catalogued as IC 5146, is a reflection, emission nebula and Caldwell object in the constellation Cygnus. The cluster of stars where this ionized hydrogen gases and reflection nebula reside is over 4,000 light years away and spans across roughly 7.5 light years in size. This was a difficult object for me to acquire with my experience level, and thus some day I may come back to it again for a retry that I find is print worthy. This photo was completed in August of 2023.
